Joanna Veazey Brooks, MBE, PhD, is a sociologist in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Her research examines medical education and socialization as well as the role of culture and teamwork in health care. She received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master's Degree in Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Philosophy from Furman University.
