About Ben King and Jen Elder

Jen Elder has over 12 years of experience in policy development and implementation in the homelessness sector. She currently serves as the Policy Chair and Chair-Elect for the American Public Health Association’s Caucus on Homelessness. Her areas of expertise include: disability benefits and income maximization for special populations including Veterans, transition age youth, and children; Housing First and rapid re-housing; Social Security work incentives; and community capacity building. Ms. Elder has authored toolkits related to these topics for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and is a regular presenter at national conferences on topics related to combining mainstream benefits with housing and employment.
