About Sandhya Shimoga

Dr. Shimoga is an Assistant Professor at California State University, Long Beach. Her areas of research include health and behavioral economics pertaining to health behaviors, patient-provider decision-making behaviors and their intersection with information technology, and health policy analysis of public programs including health policies in emerging economies. Prior to coming to academia, Dr. Shimoga worked as both a management consultant and manager in health insurance and provider practices at premier consulting firms such as Cap Gemini and Accenture. Dr. Shimoga received her Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also holds a master's degree from the University of Maryland, University College and an MSc in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM).
